Facetting.com catalogues the equipment and rough material used in lapidary practice: faceting machines, laps, dops, rough gemstones, cabochon supplies, polishing consumables, and measurement instruments. The catalogue is populated from publicly available manufacturer and retailer product information; integrations with the Amazon Product Advertising API and specialty-retailer feeds are planned and will be wired up as access is granted.
The site is deliberately narrow in scope. It does not publish tutorials, reviews, or buying guides, and it does not host a faceting-design library, meet-point calculators, or interactive diagram tools. Product descriptions are generated from manufacturer specifications in a neutral voice; reference entries are encyclopedic descriptions of equipment and material categories drawn from public factual sources.
No products on this site have been physically tested by the operator. Product descriptions are derived from manufacturer specification sheets in a neutral, third-person voice. The site does not publish reviewer bylines, hands-on impressions, “best of” lists, recommendations, or comparative claims. Where a manufacturer or product name appears in reference entries it is illustrative; the reference entries do not endorse specific products.
See the disclosures page for the full data-sourcing and outbound-link policy. The site is not currently enrolled in any affiliate program; this will be reflected on the disclosures page if and when it changes.
Corrections to product specifications, retailer links, or reference-entry facts are welcome. Write to sgs@sgs.sh. The editor reads everything; expect a response within a few business days.
The site is operated as a single-person project. There is no editorial board, no advertising department, and no third-party agency involved in copy production.
