Brass Dop Stick, Cup, 6 mm

Overview

A single brass dop stick with a cup end face and a 6 mm working diameter. The shaft is sized at 1/2 inch for compatibility with the standard quill collet on bench faceting machines.

Brass dop sticks differ from other materials in their thermal behavior under wax-based adhesives; brass conducts heat at a rate well-matched to traditional dop wax.

Replacement and supplemental dops are typically purchased in mixed sets. Faces should be inspected for square and replaced if peening or coning is observed at the working face.
