Aluminum Dop Stick, Cup, 4 mm

Overview

A single aluminum dop stick with a cup end face and a 4 mm working diameter. The shaft is sized at 1/2 inch for compatibility with the standard quill collet on bench faceting machines.

Aluminum dop sticks differ from other materials in their thermal behavior under wax-based adhesives; aluminum is lighter and rapidly transmits temperature changes.

Replacement and supplemental dops are typically purchased in mixed sets. Faces should be inspected for square and replaced if peening or coning is observed at the working face.
