The Polymetric Scintillator Mk II is a rigid-mast faceting machine produced in California. Manufacturer specifications list a spindle total indicated runout of 0.0003 inch, placing the system in Polymetric's connoisseur-grade tier.
The Mk II replaces the earlier Scintillator in Polymetric's lineup, adding a finer-resolution digital readout and a revised quill bearing. An 8-inch master lap and 96-tooth index wheel are supplied; a 1/10 HP variable-speed DC motor drives the spindle.
The Mk II is built to order and typically ships on a multi-week lead time. Warranty is stated at two years on the mast and spindle assembly; additional index wheels are available as accessories.
